| Geographical Information Science (GIS) Larry has established himself as a solid team builder and player in the GIS, 3D, visualization, and realtime simulation software environment. GIS Certification Larry earned his GIScience Certificate from the Louisiana Tech University GIScience Certificate Program in 2006. Employment He is currently a technical writer at Presagis (formerly MultiGen-Paradigm, Inc.) in Richardson TX, where he writes documentation for Creator Terrain Studio (a large-area database generation tool), Creator VT Studio (creates virtual textures for databases), and Creator (modeling tool). His current set of docs include: getting started, release notes, user's guide, online help. He also wrote the MPI Glossary and MetaFlight User's Guide. He uses FrameMaker, Paint Shop Pro, Visio, and Mif2Go to create his final products. Larry has been at Presagis since 2001.
GIS Projects Larry is a relative newcomer to the exciting and quickly expanding world of GIS and has been reading and learning more about the subject. His particular interest is in using GIS to create history-oriented analysis projects. One of his first maps was showing Italians in Texas in 1900, a look at the counties who had Italian immigrants in 1900, when the arrived in those counties, what their primary occupations were, and where they came from in Italy. Here's what it looks like:
He also did a comprehensive look at earthquakes in Oklahoma from 1882–2004. Here's a sample of some of that data:

And, he also created a map showing how mobile GIS was being used in New Mexico in 2005:
